What is it all about?
New places, people and routines can be daunting for many. These times are especially difficult for children and young people with Autism. Increased anxiety can lead to non-compliance, school refusal, disruptive or withdrawn behaviours and low self-esteem. Any transition, big or small, needs careful planning, preparation and support. Reducing anxiety will lead to an increased chance of success in new environments and an increase in resilience within the individual.
This workshop looks at planning for transitions and examines techniques and resources to increase the likelihood of a successful move, whether from home to school, to a new classroom or accepting new people in their life.
“Very interesting and helpful. Lots of brilliant ideas on transition programmes”
“Lots of ideas to help our vulnerable children. To involve parents with transition “check-in” sessions is a great idea”
In response to client feedback we are now coming out to various locations across Norfolk and Suffolk to deliver a combination of tailored workshops to whole schools or clusters. If you are interested in hosting one of these events, please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.
